We are extremely excited to announce that Impact Theatre Initiative's debut season will open with Adonis. Written by ITI's very own John Steele Jr., Adonis centers around a young psychiatrist, Andrew Conners, and his experiences with his first patient, suffering from schizophrenia, Adonis. It brings the audience into the world of the play, treating them as guests at Adonis' funeral, and through Conners' memories and narration, takes them back into the facility where Adonis lived. As Conners treats Adonis, he finds himself entangled in a medical conspiracy that enshrouds Adonis’ history and the history of the entire treatment facility. Focusing on the lasting impression that Adonis leaves on those he comes into contact with, as it races to its conclusion, “Adonis” asks the question: to what degree do we have the influence and the right to change the lives of those around us? The Summer 2012 production will be the first fully-staged and fully-realized production of the final script.

We couldn't be prouder of the incredible cast we have complied, including several critically acclaimed actors with international credits in film, television, and stage. Announcing the world premiere cast of Adonis

For over a quarter of a century, we have awarded nearly $300 million worldwide to more than 3,000 scientists carefully selected by our prestigious Scientific Council. 100% of all donor contributions for research are invested in NARSAD Grants leading to discoveries in understanding causes and improving treatments of disorders in children and adults, such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and anxiety disorders like obsessive-compulsive and post-traumatic stress disorders. For more information visit www.bbrfoundation.org."

There have been two previous workshop productions of early drafts of Adonis, one in Summer 2011, and one in April 2012. The previous workshop productions have been so successful that we knew Adonis was a special story that needed to be told, and that deserved a fully-produced production. We couldn't be more excited to be donating our proceeds to BBRF, a truly worthy cause that we here at ITI feel very passionately about. Pics from our previous workshop productions are posted below to hold you over until May!
